I want to say a very special thank you to Nathan Brindley. Nathan is a Navy corpsman who was attached to Richey's Marien unit in Iraq. But more importantly he is a friend of Richey's. Nathan was with Richey when he died. Richey did not die alone. He had a friend there with him. He had someone who loved and cared about him. Thank you Nathan for being there when his other family and other friends could not be. Close

Getting Older  / Paula Maddox (Kira's Mom )
Teresa was here tonight. She and Kira told so many funny stories... Apparently one night you all had a party at our house when I was out of town. Some guys set a blanket on fire just outside of the garage and flames shot up to Kira's bedroom window. You took care of the boys who started the fire, sent them on their way and put the fire out. Thank you for taking care of Kira, then, now and always!

The stories were so funny, three years AFTER they happened. Somehow that is Kira's window for telling me stories of times I missed. All of your teen year adventures get told when the statute of limitations is up on gettin grounded! Friends in college, new apartments, breakups, back together, etc. So many stories, so many adventures. You should be here! Everyone keeps getting older. You don't... I am so sad with missing you here with us. 

We have pumpkins growing. Made me think of the year you went with us to the pumkin patch and we rode on the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch. You were such a great sport! You carried so many pumpkins because Kelsey could not decide which one she wanted!. You were so good to Kelsey and so Cool with Brandon. He wanted to be just like you! Thank you for that! I just wanted you to know we think of you so much! And you are missed, so missed!

What can I say? I really do not remember the last time we spoke. I do know that those years at Austin and Peachtree were priceless; thanks for giving those unexpected calls to me at military school. Eventhough we did not see much of each other after high school, you know you were important to me.

I am so sorry for your loss.  The loss of another hero doing for us what not many in this world have the courage or faith to do.  I have many friends who are Marines and they are by far the bravest, most honorable, patriotic people I know.  The Marines are a rare breed and I am very sorry that another has fallen.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your sacrifice.  Rest in peace and may God bless all who knew you the strength to go on as I am sure you will be missed. Dang... it's been over two weeks and it's not letting up at all!! Me and Dad and Caleb keep asking each other, will it ever?? Is this huge chunk of my heart gonna stay gone forever?? Nights and mornings are the worst, I pray every night I'll see u and mom in my dreams. I know ya'll are up there, laughing, lookin down at us, and want us to be ok, but how? It's sooo hard! This pain is not the kind u can take a asprin or put a bandaid on, it's forever! I try not to think about it, cuz that's the only way I know how to deal! I know I have to face this, but everything just still seems so surreal! U and mom will forever be my hero's!! I promise u Reech, I promise... I'll make u proud!! p.s. I've already lost 10 lbs!!!
